Class Experience

Students should understand thirty Dolch (high frequency) sight words after our class meetings. Students will gain confidence and experience in their reading ability. Students should be able to spell these sight words correctly as well. Exposure to Dolch sight words will     increase reading readiness, assist learners with gained reading confidence, help students to reach grade appropriate reading targets.
Mrs. Kim has studied English at Charter Oak State College and holds a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification from Glasgow University in Scotland. Mrs. Kim has taught English, including reading, writing, and speaking to over 400 Chinese students. She has also tutored reading to children in grades K-5 in after school programs in the United States. She is a native English speaker with a neutral American accent.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Dolch word list will be used. The is available online at no cost to parents and educators.
