Beginner Level
What will be taught in this class? In this class students will learn the fundamentals of reading in French. We will start from the very beginning with the French alphabet, then move our way to the sounds of the letters, followed by syllables then words. Topics that will be taught include: - The French alphabet, - Sounds of the Letters, - French Vowels, - French Vowel Sounds, - French Consonants, French consonant sounds, - Mixing sounds to make syllables, - mixing syllables to make words - Confusing sounds like "e" and "é" This is a 30 minutes class and during these 30 minutes I will introduce the lesson to the students, ask them a few questions to know see if they have any prior knowledge to the topic then proceed to teach the students. There will be a lot of interaction between me and the students as I strongly believe students learn best when they are involved in their learning process. We will use games, songs and rhymes to help the students remember the lesson. Students will be allowed to stop me at any time if I am too fast for their pace. Homework will be given on occasion but will not be mandatory to complete. This will only be extra practice to help solidify what the students would have learned in class that day.
Learning Goals

Hello there,
My name is Nadege Asongaze and I am a certified trained elementary school teacher working with one of the local school boards here in Edmonton Canada. I am a bilingual French and English teacher and I teach mostly in French immersion schools. I am highly efficient in both French and English and it gives me great joy to share my love for languages with the little ones.
I have thought in elementary schools for 7 years now.
I have a special place in my heart for children, being a mother of six kids myself so the patience and skills I need to keep young learners engaged in a lesson comes to me naturally.
I look forward to connecting with you and your little ones.
God bless
