Learning the alphabet as the foundation of our spoken language gives us the advantage of knowing how letters and words are pronounced, how to think in a language, and how to spell in that language.

Students will learn to read the Gujarati alphabets (barakhadi) by learning two and three letter words covering all the consonants.  

Week 1 - Class 1: two letter words ending with "ર" and learning five other consonants "ક, ગ, ઘ, ચ, છ"
 Week 1 - Class 2: two letter words ending with "ર" and learning five other consonants "ત, થ, દ, ધ, ન"

 Week 2 - Class 1: two letter words ending with "ર" and learning five other consonants "પ, ફ, ભ, મ, વ"
 Week 2 - Class 2: two letter words ending with "ડ" and learning four other consonants "લ,વ,ચ,ખ" and revising "પ,થ"

 Week 3 - Class 1: two letter words ending with "ન" and learning new consonant "જ" and revising consonants "વ, મ, ત, ધ"
Week 3 - Class 2: two letter words ending with "ળ" and learning new consonants "હ, બ" and revising consonants "દ, ગ, ન, ફ, થ, ત, છ"

Week 4 - Class 1: two letter words ending with "ણ" and learning new consonants "ક્ષ, શ"
 Week 4 - Class 2: two letter words ending with "ણ" and revising consonants "ભ,ગ,ચ,ર,પ,ઘ"

Week 5 - Class 1: Learn the remaining consonants and review all the consonants by identifying them on Alphabet chart 
 Week 5 - Class 2: Make 3 and four letter words without maatraa
