Homework
1 hour per week. Each week students will have worksheets to complete. There is a fill in the blank section after each story. There is a complete the words activity where students will write in the missing letters and there is a cut and paste activity where students will match each word to the picture that depicts it.
Grading
I encourage you to have your learner complete all of the activities and then you can turn them in to me by scanning them and attaching them in a message or by uploading them directly within the classroom. This is not required, but I will provide feedback if you choose to do so. This is for the self-paced version only.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
I designed this class so that your child can start learning to read by recognizing letter patterns within word family words and by blending letter sounds together to read and write new words. Each lesson will have a new set of word family words. Students will practice reading and writing these new words by completing a few different activities. These activities will include a story that contains all of our word family words, an activity where students must determine the missing letters by listening to their sounds, a fill in the blanks activity and a cut and paste activity too.

I create every activity and story for each lesson myself. These class materials can be put together in a notebook or kept together in a folder so students can continue to practice all of the words they have learned. Continued practice is best for the words to stick in students memories!

This class is for early readers who need practice with blending letter sounds together to read a word or for learners who need additional practice with mastering CVC and CCVC words. I believe this version of the class is the best way for most students to learn because they can move through the materials at a pace that works best for them! I have found, in a live class, that students often are at very different levels and this can make it difficult for students who are struggling to catch up. With this self-paced version, students can take their time and really learn one set of words before moving on to the next!

Once learners have completed each part of the lesson, you can upload their completed worksheets and post them in our classroom or send them to me in a message. If you do this, I will provide feedback and additional help, if needed. Please note that this feedback and additional help is for the self-paced version and not the subscription version. Thank you!

If you do enroll your child in this course, please be sure to have them watch my welcome video, which can be accessed in the classroom!
