The students will learn how to decode short vowel words. The students will be able to write short vowel words. The students will be challenged to read short vowel words in isolation and within a sentence. The students will be able to blend short vowel words. The students will recognize letters and their sounds.
I am a certified elementary teacher and have taught phonics, reading, writing and math for many years. Before teaching 2nd grade, I tutored students in reading comprehension, decoding words, math and science after school and during the summer. I was also a Title 1 reading intervention specialist for grades kindergarten-3rd grade. I have worked in a preschool and pre-k setting as well working on a variety of literacy skills.
