Pre-reader. Students will learn phonemic and phonological awareness through an explicit and systematic curriculum. Classes will be multisensory, structured literacy, science of reading, based learning.

See class description for scope and sequence. This will continue with each new set or block of classes. ⭐️ Enrollment is four classes or weeks at a time. But intended as a long-term commitment.
This class is taught in English.
  • •Students will develop phonological knowledge. Students will be able to identify letters and sounds. •Students will be able to read and spell CVC words. •Students will be exposed to non-phonetic words. •Students will be able to read and write short sentences using known words.
As a former kindergarten classroom teacher, and Orton-Gillingham instructor, I have several years experience working with students utilizing Lively Letters and Orton-Gillingham to develop foundational literacy skills.

Dry erase board Marker Eraser Cubes or Legos or Tiles, etc. (1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green) Tactile surface (sand paper or tray, scouring side of sponge) Handouts/Worksheets if needed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Shared screen whiteboard for sound blending/orthographic mapping, printing practice, reading, and spelling.
