Class Experience

This 25-minute minute class takes place twice a week. We practicing reading three and four-letter words with various final consonant blends and irregular vowel sounds. This class is a great sequel to Learn to Read 4. Each class we review phonics, practice spelling and writing, play games with sight words, and we reading mini stories (written by me) both together and independently. My teaching style is very high energy, so we make sure to intermingle songs and movement into class to keep kids engaged. I give kids lots of opportunities for success so students can realize they have all the tools to read.

Supplies
We practice spelling every class, so please bring something to write with.

Outside of Class
To become confident readers, we need to read a lot. That's why I send out a new mini book (written by me) and set of heart words each week for students to practice on their own. You're welcome to bring these to class, but it's not required.

Weekly Schedule
Week 1- Word Family -aps & -ill
Week 2- Plurals
Week 3- A as /o/ (i.e "call" and "walk")
Week 4- B & D letter recognition

Is my child the right level for this class?
Students that can read 3-letter words are a good fir for this class. This is great for advanced preschoolers, new kindergarteners, or struggling 1st graders. If you still need to work on your letter sounds, try out my Circle Time class. If you know your letter sounds but still need to practice blending two-letters together, try Learn to Read 1 or 2. If three letter words are still challenging for you, try Learn to Read 4.
FREE TRIAL CLASS!
If you want to sample this class before signing up, message me for a free trial. That way we can take away the guess work!
