Class Experience
*Although this is an ongoing class, students are welcome to join or leave on any given week. The classes will repeat after the 13th class.* In this course, students will be engaged for 30 minutes each week on how to sound out words 3 letter words using one vowel sound. Students should have a basic understanding of letters and their corresponding sounds before taking these classes. The class will focus on a specific vowel sound each week. Each week students will accurately decode different 3 letter words with short vowel sounds.
The teacher is an elementary certified teacher and has her Masters in Reading and Literacy K-12.
Learners will need a pencil and paper or a dry erase board and marker to practice writing words. Students will receive a printable worksheet to practice at home after class.
Students will be informally assessed during the lesson.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
