Description

Class Experience

In this class, students will learn good posture and technique that will support beautiful sound production. Students will develop and understanding of how to produce a good sound on the instrument by plucking and using the bow.
By the end of the class, students will be able to identify 4 different notes on the music staff and where to find them on the instrument. They will also be able to identify 3 different rhythms and accurately perform them on the instrument.
Students will integrate all of these skills into a performance of Chit Chat Duet with other students as well as learn how to perform both parts in order to play alone!
Practicing between lessons is essential to building good habits and developing the skills introduced in lessons. Students will be encouraged to set goals in class and to schedule practice sessions in order to achieve those goals.
Practicing is different for every person but students will be encouraged to play for 10-15 minutes, 4-5 times a week minimum.
Violin Bow Violin Case Rosin Rentals are available at most music stores as well as instruments for purchase - prices vary based on location. Please contact me if you have an questions about finding a violin!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
