This piano class is a one-to-one, personalized experience. It’s partly a tutorial and skill-building class and partly a learner-directed learning experience. This class is taught in English.
Students will steadily improve their skills are playing the piano and gaining finger strength. Students will practice technical exercises and play teaching pieces to help them achieve these goals. Students will learn terminologies and other strategies to facilitate learning. Students will develop their own musical goals and pursue them.
I have taught piano lessons since 1991. I am a certified teacher in the state of Kentucky. I can teach music for all grades P through 12. I began teaching piano online during 2020. I love teaching!
For homework, students will be expected to practice each day. They will need to spend as much time as needed to achieve the objective for the week.
The learner will need to purchase piano method books and other sheet music purchases will be made during the course of this ongoing class. Most method books cost around $5 each.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Music, assessment is formative and constant. Feedback is immediate and formative in nature. The goal is always forward progress and improvement.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
There is no mature or sensitive content in this class.
The student will purchase any books and materials they wish to learn to play.
