We will learn how to play the guitar by learning the 12 Bar Blues form and songs from early Rock & Roll. Learning 12 Bar Blues form is a great way to learn guitar, learn to write songs, learn how to play guitar solos, play great rhythm guitar, and more. Week 1: The Basics: we learn how to tune a guitar, how to hold and guitar, how to play basic notes, chords, and learn to strum. The first week is focused on creating the basic skills and movements that turn into music and will make each week more fun and exciting the play with. We will also introduce the Blues form and take a look at songs that follow the standard 12 Bar Blues. Week 2: The 12 Bar Blues Form: This week we will break down the form and learn the chords and riffs that we can use to play songs in the form. It's much easier than you think. With this basic understanding of how the songs use the form we'll be playing many songs by the end of the class. Week 3: The Songs: This week we will take a look at the songs that we have introduced in weeks 1 and 2 and learn how to play them. We will focus on following the chord charts and guitar tab and learn the riffs, hooks, chords, intros and endings to the songs. Week 4: Play along: This week we will focus on playing along with the songs and look at tips and trick to be able to keep up with the songs so that we can perform the songs for your friends or family. The goal is to be able to play along with the whole songs and have fun playing music. We will also look at what you can do next to take these skills to the next level and enjoy your guitar greatness! We will start by learning how to hold and tune a guitar then play basic Rhythms and chords to play music. Each week we will learn topics that focus on playing songs and music. We will study songs that use the Blues form and learn how to play along with some of your favorite songs. We start by learning how to play riffs and rhythm patterns, you'll learn cool grooves and iconic rock and roll riffs that will impress you friends and get you playing songs in no time! We will expand these groove and riff patterns to play a bunch of songs and get your fingers moving around the neck of the guitar so that you can learn chords and solos with ease. We will learn the most used chords and strum patterns to use to play along with classic blues and rock & roll songs. With this vocabulary of chords you'll be able to learn songs fast and begin to write your own songs easily. We will learn how to read guitar tablature. Guitar Tab as its commonly called is a way to easily learn how to read music on the guitar. With guitar tab learn you'll see string and fret combinations and learn how to follow songs charts. This allows you to "see" the music and will give you tools to learn songs fast and learn how to read music later on. We will learn 3 chord music theory that has defined the sound of blues, rock, pop, country, and jazz. With these tools you can get started with being a great guitar player and become the musician that you want to be,
Learning Goals
