Chords Ways to Play Chords when Accompanying Chord Progressions Form Practice Strategies
I have 14 years of experience teaching public school middle school general music classes, and this is one of the most popular things I have done with students! It is a very accessible way to learn to play the songs they love. I am a certified music teacher in my home state, and hold a MEd degree, as well as two music degrees. I have been teaching and performing music professionally for 24 years.
Homework Offered
Practice outside of class isn't required, but it is highly recommended to get the most out of the class. I would anticipate most students will need to practice between classes to have success with the harder songs that are scheduled for weeks 4 and 5.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

I will be using www.chordify.net to demonstrate during the classes. This is a very useful website and app, and it does show the YouTube video along with the chords for the song. I have listed the songs we will study so that you can decide if you are comfortable with your child seeing those videos and hearing the lyrics to those songs. It isn't required that students use chordify, but it is a very handy learning and practice tool, and one song can be played each day for free without creating an account. I will be showing students how they can do that if they wish to do so outside of class.
