Note: This is NOT a beginner class. In order to be successful and enjoy the class, students are recommended to have recently taken either "Beginning Acoustic Guitar for Young Learners" or "Beginning Guitar: Rock and Learn!" part 1 classes, OR have a few months experience playing the guitar before taking this class (i.e. reading notes E-F-G and B-C-D on the first two strings). In class, we will learn the beloved holiday song "Jingle Bells" using notes on the first two strings of the guitar. The instructor will guide students through playing each section of the song with emphasis on melody and correct rhythm. If time, we will also discuss the chords C and G7 and how they can strum these chords along with "Jingle Bells." Students will receive a copy of the song at the end of class with the note names labeled so they can enjoy playing it for friends and family this holiday season!
Learning Goals
Students will review notes B, C, D, E, F and G on the first two strings to be able to play the holiday song "Jingle Bells."
Students will learn the chords C and G7 so they can also strum along with the song.
