This is the follow up class to my first guitar class. The students will learn all new guitar chords. Some will feel easier than the previous course and some a little more challenging. The way we will learn and practice these new chords is by learning to play new songs together as a class. All the songs chosen for this course are age appropriate and capable for beginner guitar players. Here is a breakdown of the course week by week. Week 1 Review some of the standard guitar chords from my level 1 guitar course. We will help the student practice the chords that he or she is not able to play well. The students will be introduced to song 1 which has some familiar chords and some new chords. They will understand the chords that are required for the verse. They will practice the verse chords and play together as a class. Week 2 We will review song 1 that we learned from the previous week. The students will try to improve on the mistakes that they have. Learners can ask the teacher questions about what they’re having difficulty with when it comes to playing the song. We are introduced to song number 2. This new song will introduce the learners to new chords called "barre chords". They will learn some techniques on how to play these particular type of chords that they haven't seen before. Week 3 They will learn a new strumming pattern to play with this new song. Students learn how to play new barre chords and also review the barre chords from week 2. They will practice song 2 some more by themselves, along with the teacher, and then together with the class as a band. Final project: the learners will get to choose either song 1 or song 2 that they would like to present to the class.
