By the end of the course, students be able to create a variety of graph types, such as column charts, line charts, pie charts, and more. This class will include a fun project in which students will create a graph of the top selling video games of all time. The graph will include an appropriate Title, Axis labels, and Column Formatting to illustrate the data in a clean and professional manner. Learning how to graph in Google Sheets can be beneficial for students for a variety of reasons, including: 1. Visualizing data: Graphs and charts can help students better understand and analyze complex data by presenting it in a visual format. This can help them identify patterns and trends that may not be immediately apparent from raw data. 2. Communicating findings: Graphs and charts can help students communicate their findings more effectively to others. Visual representations of data can be more compelling and easier to understand than long tables or written reports. 3. Data analysis: Graphs and charts can be used to analyze data and draw conclusions. Students can use different types of graphs to compare and contrast data, identify outliers, and understand the relationship between different variables. 4. Data presentation: Graphs and charts can help students present their data in a more organized and professional manner. They can use different types of graphs to highlight specific trends or patterns and create a clear and concise presentation. 5. Collaboration: Google Sheets allows students to collaborate with others on graphs and charts in real-time. This can be beneficial for group projects or assignments that require multiple people to work together. 6. Career readiness: Many careers require the ability to create and analyze data using graphs and charts. Learning how to do this in Google Sheets can prepare students for future careers in fields such as business, finance, and data analysis. Thank you for the opportunity to teach and serve your child. For 31 years I served as a full-time public school teacher in Moreno Valley, CA. During my career I taught Biological science for five years and for 27 years I taught computers and technology classes to both elementary and secondary students. I have also created and facilitated various training sessions for staff members on how to integrate technology into their classroom curriculum. I received my master’s degree in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in 1996. After graduation, I became an adjunct professor for APU as well as University of Phoenix, where I taught numerous technology integration classes and elementary science methods classes. I love to teach kids and currently teach computer life skills to San Bernardino County Foster Youth as well as the Youth probation department. When I am not teaching I enjoy riding bikes at the beach with my wife and dog.
