US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class students will learn to draw the human face of a woman. They will learn basic facial proportions, including the placement of eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Students will develop a portrait in 5 steps following specific guidelines. They will learn graphite pencil drawing techniques such as shading and hatching to create three dimensionality in their portraits. Students will also learn about the different pencils that are used in sketching. As a teacher I will provide ample opportunities for learners to ask questions during drawing instruction. Portrait work is considered one of the highest forms of art and it requires practice and precision. It is my hope to instill a love for drawing in your learner. Perhaps they may even discover a new drawing journey into the world of portraiture!
