In this class we are going to learn and develop ways to draw portraits! We are going to focus practicing how to draw each area of the face including the eyes, nose, lips, hair, face shape and ears. We will cover how to shade certain areas of the face, and discuss when it is more effective to use heavier or lighter lines when drawing and shading. We are mainly going to draw from our minds. We can also use images from life as reference, you may bring a mirror. Class will meet live twice for one week. The first day we will focus on drawing the facial features. On the second day second day we will focus drawing hair, general face shape and basic shading tips For the first class, if you have attempted to draw a portrait or any face features before please bring it with you. If you do not have any drawings with you, that’s okay too. We can start With step step by step demonstration on how to draw each area of the face, so students can fallow. Then students can continue to practice and I will provide feedback and assistance, by answering questions students may have. Students can ask for guidance, or ask questions they have about drawing, others can join to help or learn. To avoid any confusions and practice good manners, we should speak one person at the time. If there are more than one student at the time, students can use zoom chat, or raise their hand to talk, ask questions and share knowledge. Beginners and intermediate artist are welcome to join.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ceres, I teach Watercolor and Drawing Classes.
My goal is for my students to develop a strong understanding on the fundamentals of watercolor and drawing while having fun painting and expressing themselves through art.
Students will gain understanding on working with these mediums by completing fun painting exercises, participating in step by step art pieces, as well as creating their own artwork after experimenting and learning new techniques!
I want to create a safe space where students can learn Art in a fun way. To be able to experiment, possibly make mistakes and learn from them, to then try again. The most I ask for my students is to try their best!
I have a total of 4 years teaching experience, where I’ve thought in after school program and summer camp, as well as teaching online. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with concentration in teaching. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish.
