Get $5 off my class CRANCMZWYH5 until Feb 28, 2023. In this FLEX class, we will create one fun drawing a week using simple geometric shapes such as the circle, square, rectangle and triangle as a foundation. We will focus on one shape per week, and students will be guided through a drawing lesson based on that shape. Students may also engage in learning games and activities such as shape scavenger hunt, practice drawing games and vocabulary memory games. Each week students will receive links to materials which may include: educational videos about shapes or shapes in art, games or practice activities, and the class recording. The class recording, or video lesson, may include: slide presentation, art vocabulary, discussion questions and art demonstration. Students are encouraged to follow along with the instructor, but to also add their own creative details and interpretation. Students may use whatever drawing materials they have available, including: pencils, crayons, markers, black markers, and colored pencils. Sequence of lessons: Week 1) Circle- Garden with Flowers and Insects Week 2) Square- City Block Week 3) Rectangle- Train Station Week 4) Triangle- Underwater Ocean Scene This class is suitable for learners who like to draw independently and are able to follow instructions while also adding their own elements to the drawing. There might be a range of abilities within this group- some students may be developing fine motor skills and learning to form shapes and linear details. Others might be more experienced and able to add details and might understand principles such as space and proportion. My comments on students artwork meet students where they are developmentally. I strive to create a classroom environment in which students feel supported and encouraged wherever they may be. I look forward to drawing with you!
