What's included
Homework
2-4 hours per week. Because this is an independently-paced, asynchronous course, students will not have any assigned "homework." However, there will be a significant amount of practice that is needed to complete the entire scarf during the 4 weeks.Assessment
Leaner progress will be assessed by posting in the classroom discussion board each Saturday before new content is posted each Monday. They will be sharing pictures of their progress, or mentioning in a text form of how many numbers of rows they have completed each week, as well as what number row they are currently working on.Class Experience
In this flexible-schedule course, students will learn how to crochet an entire scarf by the end of the 4th week! Class structure: This class is asynchronous, which means that there are NO live meetings. However, students will be getting new videos to follow along with the steps to practice throughout the week to advance their crochet skills. They will also get opportunities to ask questions throughout the week and get personalized responses! We will also develop a fun crochet community with learner to learner interaction in a fun weekly trivia game that students will get to play! New course content will be released each Monday and is expected to be completed by the following Saturday to stay on track with the course! Each weekly content posting from me will include: - Personalized demonstration videos about each weekly topic - The weekly assignment - A fun weekly crochet trivia game! - Request for "check-ins" - Request for questions if students want any personalized video demonstration responses On or before each Saturday, learners will be expected to post: - Their completed weekly assignments for individual feedback and review - Their "check-ins" (includes their weekly progress in the form of a picture, video, or a text discussion board post in the classroom stating which row they are on and how everything is going each Sunday before new content is posted on Monday. - Play the Crochet Trivia Game! - Any questions they have that they want a personalized video demonstration from me as a response to clarify what was taught in class (I will respond to the students individual posts and be there to guide them through each question they have about the crochet step they are on). Topics: Week 1: Crochet basics (foundation chain, sizing your work, and fixing minor mistakes) Week 2: Stitches (we will learn and practice a single crochet "sc," and a double crochet "dc" throughout the week) Week 3: Fixing Mistakes & Changing Yarn (we will go into more detail about how to fix mistakes, how to track-count your stitches along the way, patterns, and how to add more yarn or change a color of yarn). Week 4: Finishing your work (we will talk about how to measure crochet projects without a pattern, and finish our crochet projects) Experience required: NO crochet experience is required. This is a beginner's course.
