Class Experience

This class is a continuation of Learn to Crochet: Just the Basics! class found here: https://outschool.com/classes/learn-to-crochet-just-the-basics-vRlEggQ8#usFqyJozSh Your student should know how to tie a slip knot, chain, and slip stitch, and had some practice doing these things, before class.

We will learn single crochet, double crochet, and half-double crochet stitches and put them together in a cute little project! The student should have "worsted weight" yarn and a 6mm crochet hook, or a yarn and a hook that matches the size of the yarn. For instance, "super bulky" yarn should have a size 10mm or higher hook. New crocheters sometimes find it easier to work with a bigger hook!

If your student requires extra help, please have them stay after class. I would be glad to work with them!
Learning Goals
At the end of class students will know how to stitch single crochet, double crochet, and half-double crochet stitches, and will have started a small project that they may finish on their own. The pattern will be available via PDF. in the classroom chat.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a homeschooling mom, math and writing tutor, and STEM and crochet teacher. My teaching style is encouraging, engaging, and eclectic. I like to learn my student's interests and goals, then give them the tools to meet those goals using real-life examples from topics they love.

As a parent of a special needs child, I understand that not every student learns the same way, but each can be successful! My greatest joy is to help a student find their own power to learn, and in the process, discover the love of learning. :)

I think we learn better together, and on Outschool we have the privilege of learning with people from all over the world! I am grateful to be a part of such a wonderful platform.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope to see you in class!
