In this class, we will learn the signs for the National Anthem. We will briefly discuss ASL grammar structure. We will discuss ways to remember the signs. We will be singing and signing the majority of the class time. The teacher will observe the students as they sign and give individualized feedback. I love to have fun with students as I teach. My classroom is a relaxed environment where everyone is loved and we learn from one another. Students do not need to have any background knowledge. It would be helpful if they are familiar with the National Anthem (The Star-Spangled Banner) **Disclaimer** Many signs in ASL differ across signers and regions. Signing songs can differ even more. I used the translation used at the University of Florida per these videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulUkSDtReQU&t=373s&ab_channel=AlexAuD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS2BdnCnMcI&t=13s&ab_channel=AlexAuD I will be teaching solely the National Anthem. We will not be doing full sentences or immersion in this class. While I have experience with ASL, I am not fluent, but I did take the time to research the signs prepared for this class.
