•. Students will become visually familiar with the letters of the Hebrew alphabet • Students will be introduced to the names of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet • Students will be introduced to the sounds made by the letters of the Hebrew alphabet • Students will have a chance to casually interact with peers around a shared learning goal • Students will practice using their listening skills and (time permitting) their speaking skills
I have an MA in Jewish Studies, and have completed several other academic Jewish Studies and Religious Studies classes, at the graduate level. This includes more than two years of Biblical Hebrew, as well as several classes in Modern Hebrew. I have helped hundreds of students develop and improve their Hebrew reading skills. Although I have excellent Hebrew reading skills, I am not a fluent speaker of Modern Hebrew. Outschool is a secular platform, and this class takes an academic and secular approach to all topics.
Please bring the posted print outs to class each week ALONG WITH at least 3 (your choice which, more is fine) of the following materials to class each week: Play-doh or clay, pretzel sticks, pipe cleaners, legos, toothpicks, small blocks or three dozen pennies/coins. ***Please make sure these are materials that your students can handle safely, and will NOT swallow or otherwise use to injure themselves! Please provide supervision as needed.*** Please also bring crayons or markers, and some paper. Thank you!
