Description

Class Experience

LEARNING to find the main idea is deceptively simple - it is common for school-aged children to confuse "cool facts" with the main idea. However, working to find the main idea is especially important because identifying the main idea and the details that expand on the topic helps students improve their reading comprehension, identify the author's purpose and answer critical questions such as how, what, when, where, why, how much, or how many.

I ask for students to pre-read, at least one time, each text we discuss in class. Printables and texts are posted on the group page prior to class. Please bring printables and a pencil to class:-)
