Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
I will give homework for each lesson (twice a week) so that students practice each new skill that we learn in Ableton Live. Individual practice and experimentation within the software are of the utmost importance to get over the steep learning curve of this software. Projects will be completed individually in this introductory course but in subsequent courses, I will offer the ability for learners to collaborate with their peers. Homework should take no longer than 2 hours per week but extra work is always encouraged.
Ableton Live 11 Suite Music Production Software (the trial version is more than enough!!)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each learner will be asked to complete a final assignment consisting of one original song (minimum 1:30) which will be assessed by myself with a written report analysing production techniques, sound design, and mixing techniques employed. I will mostly offer constructive ideas on how to make their productions better in the future once they finish the course!
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
