In this 4-part course, students will begin their creative journey learning the art of sewing with understanding machine basics including machine anatomy, understanding various types of fabric, and stitches and terminology.

Class experience

Students will be comfortable with and have a basic understanding of how to operate a sewing machine by the time they finish this course.
I have created and taught the Summer Fashion Program for The City of Dallas, Texas, taught the Summer Sewing Camp for The City of Mesquite, Texas, and I am the garment construction and kids club educator at Urban Spools Sewing Lounge in Dallas, Texas.
Homework Offered
Homework will consist of reviewing the things that were taught and learned in class.

Students should own or have access to a sewing machine for this class.

Class handouts will be available for each class. 

Students will need a fat quarter of fabric and 1/8 yard of garment interfacing such as Pellon 911FF Fusible Featherweight Interfacing both of which can be purchased at a local craft store such as Walmart, Joanns, or Hobby Lobby
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
