Learn String Art: Yarn Heart DIY Craft Project

* An approximately 10"x10" board that is ready to be used as a background (many pre-finished boards can be found at craft stores; I recommend choosing one that already has a hanger on the back); make sure the board is not too thin to prevent nails from poking out the back - the board in the example photo was purchased inexpensively from Michaels
* Nails (you will want to use flathead nails with a shank between 0.5"-1" in length & head diameter of 0.05” to 0.1”; larger nails will look clunky & be harder to manage)
* Hammer with a flat head
* Needle nose pliers that will fit around your nails
* A ball or shein of yarn, worsted weight or thinner (red with sparkles was used in the example)
* scissors to cut the yarn

If students wish to have a colored wood background, they should have it painted & dry before class begins!

String art involves the use of hammers & nails, as well as wood that could splinter. By signing their learners up for this class guardians are giving their approval for their learners to use these items for this class.
