Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language
My name is Mayra Ramos. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I also lived in Puerto Rico many years! I am fully bilingual (English and Spanish). For the past 7 years, I have been working for Florida Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant teaching Reading, Math, Social Studies and Science to small groups and entire classrooms when needed. I recently obtained my Spanish K-12 teaching certification and was hired as a Spanish teacher for a local high school. For the past 3 years, I have also been working as an ESL online teacher. I hold two bachelor degrees and a TESOL certificate. I believe in the importance of education. Every child has the right to receive quality education. I also believe in the importance and advantages of being bilingual. I have been teaching my entire life. When I was 14 years old, I started teaching kids on Sunday Bible School. I bought a suitcase, a whiteboard and materials to engage students. I have been teaching ever since. I am very passionate and lively. My school students call me "Mrs. Rainbow" because they don't know how to say "Mrs. Ramos". I do not correct them, because I believe that my mission is to fill them with the colors of knowledge, and provide them a great learning experience. I hope to see your child in my classroom.
