Description

Class Experience

Students will read and write 11 sight words from the first grade list.
I have a Masters in Education degree from Azusa Pacific University. I have a current teaching credential to teach all K-8 subjects, Reading Endorsement, K-12 music, and K-12 ESL. I have taken additional workshops on how to teach reading and writing to elementary students. I have taught reading and writing in public schools, private schools, and at homeschool co-ops over the past 20 years.
I encourage each student to continue to practice the sight words. After class, students will have access to 10 additional fun ways to practice sight words at home.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Students will need: *paper *marker/pen/pencil *printout from classroom *a 6 sided die
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be informally assessed during class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The sight words will have a Pokemon theme.
The class will be presented using a google slide show. Students will see this as the screen is shared. Students are encouraged to draw the word on the screen using annotations in the zoom meeting.
