Description
Class Experience
By the end of this course, the student should have a good grasp of programming concepts and how to use them to design and create projects. They will... • Learn programming vocabulary • Learn how to use costume, sound, and code blocks • Learn how to incorporate extension tools • Learn how to use sensing commands, conditional statements, and cloning • Create interactive stories, animations, music, and art projects
There may be optional homework if the student wants to review and complete what was covered in class or add additional code to the project.
1 file available upon enrollmentAn internet connection and laptop or desktop computer are required to complete the projects. Students will be given a link at the beginning of the first class and we will walk through setting up their free Scratch account. As we walk through the setup, if the student is not familiar with how to navigate around a browser such as Chrome or Internet Explorer, it is suggested that a parent be present to assist if needed.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
