In this weekly coding class, we will learn how to code with Scratch from the very basics.
Class experience
This class will be perfect for students new to Scratch coding and want to learn the basics and be ready for intermediate and more advanced coding projects. We will start by introducing the fundamental components and concepts of Scratch coding. I will be feeding through basic math and physics and other scientific concepts along with the introduction of Scratch coding so that students will fully comprehend the coding process with more knowledge beyond just the coding interface. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A computer desktop or laptop is preferred for coding. iPads and tablets can not be used because it lacks key features. Screen sharing will allow me to see their code as they are working. I will be able to annotate directly on their screen. On scratch.mit.edu Students need to create a free, online Scratch account before meeting. Students will need accounts to save their own projects.
