This is an ongoing class, so a rubric will be shared with parents through the Outschool classroom. Each parent will receive a link to a document which will be updated after each live class the learner. Feedback will be personalized, easy to see, and easy to implement through practice.

Class Experience

Playing rhythm is for everyone! You don't need any experience to learn to play rhythm patterns. You will just need hands and something round and flat that makes a sound when hit with two hands. A pot or pan works really well. This class is fun, small-group sized, and fast. You will learn how to play several different rhythm patterns and play along with fun song. Please follow me to get notified when classes open up, or request a class if you don't see what you need. I hope to see you soon!

Learning Goals

Students will learn to listen and play short rhythm patterns. Students will be introduced to reading rhythms by using Orff-Kodaly syllables. These are "ta" and "ti," among others. During each class, we will learn a pattern and play it along with a fun song, like a nursery rhyme or children's folk song. We will learn and play as many patterns in each class as time allows.

Supply List
A pot big enough for two hands to hit is the basic supply for this class. Parents can choose other variations on this shape and size. Basically, all that is needed is something resembling a drum and two hands.
