Class Experience

Learn Piano the Easy Way: Group Piano Lessons (Ages 8-12)

Class Description:
In this fun and engaging piano course designed for siblings aged 8-12, students will build a strong musical foundation through interactive lessons that focus on rhythm, note reading, hand coordination, and basic music theory. Whether they are completely new to the piano or have some prior experience, we’ll work at a pace that’s comfortable for them, helping them rediscover their musical skills while having fun along the way.

Class Experience:
This 45-minute weekly session is specifically tailored for two siblings to learn together, allowing for collaborative learning and fun. Here's what to expect:

What will be taught?

Basic Piano Techniques: Hand positions, finger movement, and simple warm-ups to build good habits.

Rhythm and Timing: Learn how to count beats, identify note values, and practice rhythms through interactive exercises.

Sight-Reading and Song Play: Play simple songs using both hands while naming the notes out loud to strengthen memory and note recognition.

Music Theory: Basic understanding of notes, intervals, and key signatures, explained in a way that’s easy for kids to understand.

How is the class structured?
The class is divided into segments:

Warm-up exercises: Start with hand exercises and rhythm games to get the students comfortable with their fingers and timing.

Lesson time: We’ll go through a piece of music or a concept, making sure both students are involved in each step.

Practice together: Students will take turns playing, helping each other, and practicing techniques together.

Q&A: At the end, I’ll answer any questions and give them small tasks to work on between sessions.

How will you teach?
I use a hands-on teaching approach, offering real-time feedback during each lesson. Students will play along with me as I demonstrate songs, rhythms, and techniques. I encourage active participation and make sure each student has a chance to play and ask questions. I incorporate fun games, visual aids (slides, simple charts), and audio examples to keep the learning engaging.

Teaching Style:
My teaching style is positive, interactive, and supportive, encouraging students to have fun while learning at their own pace. I believe that making mistakes is part of the learning process, so I create a safe, comfortable space for students to explore and grow musically.

How much will learners interact?
Students will interact with me directly through playing, discussions, and questions. I’ll incorporate mini-games, interactive activities, and play-along songs to make learning enjoyable. The siblings will also collaborate with each other during practice time, which builds teamwork and shared musical growth.

Why Choose This Class?
This class is designed to get your children back into the swing of piano playing quickly while building strong, foundational music skills. By learning together, your children will support each other’s progress, making lessons more fun and reinforcing learning. Plus, the flexibility of the course allows for gradual progression at each child’s individual pace.

I have over 15 years of experience teaching music, with a special focus on piano instruction for students of all ages, including children. My journey in music began at the age of 15, and since then, I have dedicated myself to mastering both the piano and music education. Throughout my career, I have taught over a hundred students, helping them develop a strong musical foundation and grow into confident musicians.

I hold a deep passion for working with children and have taught many young learners, including children ages 4–18, in private and group settings. I understand the importance of making lessons engaging, fun, and age-appropriate, which is why I tailor my teaching style to suit each child’s needs and learning pace. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where kids feel comfortable making mistakes and progressing at their own speed.

Additionally, I specialize in beginner-level piano instruction and have created structured lesson plans designed to foster growth in areas such as hand coordination, rhythm, sight-reading, and music theory. I also incorporate music games, interactive exercises, and fun activities to keep students motivated and excited about learning.

With years of experience both teaching and performing, I’m committed to helping your child build confidence, creativity, and a love for music. I look forward to guiding them on their musical journey!
