🏆 Join the ranks of over 169 enthusiastic students who have experienced the magic of learning in my highly acclaimed class! With 27 glowing five-star reviews, this course stands out as a favorite among learners. 🏆 🌟 Course Summary 🌟 Discover the exciting world of physics in our engaging four-week course, designed specifically for young learners! Dive into the First Law of Thermodynamics, gravitational force, and the fascinating concepts of potential and kinetic energy. Through hands-on projects, students will bring science to life: build a ball launcher with toilet paper rolls, create a marble drop machine from cardboard, design a rollercoaster 🎢 with paper towel rolls, and construct a pull-back car using elastic bands. Our course emphasizes tangible assignments to link scientific principles to real-world applications, ensuring a fun and educational experience. Physics is everywhere, shaping our daily lives, and young minds are naturally curious about these fundamental forces. You might wonder, "Is this course too challenging for my 7-year-old?" On the contrary, children are inherently tuned into the natural laws of the universe. This course will transform their curiosity into understanding through interactive and enjoyable projects. Join us and watch your child discover the wonders of physics while having an amazing time learning! 🌟 What makes the Self-Paced Schedule so special? 🌟 My class is asynchronous, meaning there are no live sessions. I'm Ms. Jessica, and I'm thrilled to guide you through the fascinating world of physics. My journey from being a web analyst to stepping into the classroom has been quite an adventure. I've always been the curious type, intrigued by how things work, whether it's navigating the digital realm or uncovering the principles of physics that govern our universe. That curiosity? It led me right here, teaching wonderful students like you. Homeschooling my kids opened my eyes to the wonders (and, sure, the challenges) of learning at home. It taught me how to make lessons stick by actually doing hands-on stuff, not just talking about it. Besides Outschool, I also teach STEM classes in person at private institutions and nonprofit organizations. This experience has been a fantastic way to meet students from all walks of life and learn that, yup, one size doesn't fit all when it comes to learning. My goal? To ignite that spark of curiosity in you, make you fall in love with learning, and build up your confidence to tackle even the tricky stuff. So, whether we're building ball launchers, creating marble drop machines, designing rollercoasters, or constructing pull-back cars, I'm here to cheer you on, answer your burning questions, and ensure we have a blast doing it. Ready to dive in and explore the wonders of physics together? Let's do this! 🌈✈️🌈 Ready to embark on this science adventure? Reach out with any questions or to get started. Come and make fun projects with me! 🤔 FAQ 🤔 Q: When does the class start? A: My course is designed to let you start anytime that suits you best! All lessons are pre-recorded, allowing for a completely self-paced learning experience. Q: What if I need more time to complete the course? A: We understand that everyone learns at their own pace. Got time? Here is the full description:
Hello friends! I teach STEM with a sprinkle of art and tons of fun, along with engaging Mandarin Chinese courses.
📚 I hold a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Walsh College and previously worked as a web analyst for one of the nation's largest ad agencies. Additionally, I possess a certificate in Learning, Knowledge, and Human Development from the University of Illinois and a Classroom Strategies for Inquiry-Based Learning certificate from UTAustinX. I have collaborated with nonprofit STEM education organizations to develop top-notch classroom experiences. Besides Outschool, I teach part-time at a private school, bringing my passion for innovative and engaging education to in-person learning environments. During my free time, I dedicate myself to learning about how children learn, ensuring that my teaching methods are always up-to-date and effective.
🔬 STEM education can and should be enjoyable. Through special curriculums I have developed over the years working with children, my goal as an educator is to ignite a love for scientific inquiry and discovery in young minds. My passion for childhood development and human psychology drives me to create enriching and interactive learning experiences. I have extensive experience working with learners of all ages to improve their STEM skills. My focus is on helping children build a solid foundation in science and technology through arts and play, making learning both fun and effective.
🈵 In addition to my STEM courses, I offer self-paced and live Mandarin Chinese classes designed to develop fundamental communication skills. My Mandarin courses incorporate the same engaging, inquiry-based learning methods that I use in my STEM classes. With video lessons, digital flashcards, quiz games, and guided reviews, I make learning Mandarin fun and interactive. By integrating STEM-inspired techniques, I ensure that students not only master the language but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
When I'm not teaching on Outschool, you can find me homeschooling my child, tinkering with projects, teaching other students, or participating in teacher training.
🐶 Fun facts about me: I have a beagle, and she loves to be in class with me. Maybe you will get to meet her.
