In this 4-week course, we will learn how to research, and then use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to plan and present a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida! In this course, we will: - Use WDW and Expedia websites (in class only) to research, select, and plan a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida! - Learn to use Microsoft Word to collect and format the information about the trip, build of list of things we want to do and compare it to a list of things we need to do. ...
- Become familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Learn how to format information in Microsoft Word. - Learn how to build a budget in Microsoft Excel. - Learn how to create a compelling presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint. - Build an understanding of how Microsoft Office's suite of applications works together. - Understand needs versus wants when comparing costs. - Basic understanding of budgeting for big expenses.
Websites: We will be using www.disney.com and www.expedia.com during class to do research regarding pricing of packages for our trips. This will be visable to students through the online Zoom session. Applications: This class will make heavy use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. If a learner does not have Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint, instructions and guidance on how to sign up for MIcrosoft Office 365 Online for free to use in the class. We will primarily workin Word/Excel/PowerPoint online, but will demonstrate many things both online and on the desktop version (Windows). Creating an Office.Com account, along with access to an email address, is necessary to utilize online Office 365 applications.
I will provide the learners with PDF reference sheets for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to help them along. We will utilize Disney.Com's trip planner, and Expedia.Com's flight pricing to build our trip itinerary (in-class only).
