Learn Mandarin Chinese From a Text Book-Kuaile Hanyu/快乐汉语 Book 1 ( Part I for Teens)

Attention: If your child has never had any experience with the Chinese language, please DO NOT enroll him/her in my text book classes. It's better to enroll him/her in my 4-week, 6-week or 8-week beginner classes first. Thank you for your time reading this note. 

You are going to learn the following:
lesson 1
1. Hi, how are you? Counting from 0 to 100; phonics-pinyin 你好，你好吗？ 从一数到一百； 拼音
2. What is your name? My name is xxx. different nationalities 你叫什么？ 我的名字是 xxx。不同的国籍。
3. Where do you live?  some big cities in the world 你住在哪里？ 介绍一些大城市。

lesson 2
4. family members: dad, mom, younger brother, older brother, younger sister, older sister
Simple sentences like: This is my mom. 家庭成员：爸爸，妈妈，弟弟，哥哥，妹妹，姐姐。 一些简单句：例如-这是我妈妈。

lesson 3
5. different animals  不同的动物
Simple sentences like: This is my dog. I have two dogs. I like dogs and I don't like cats....etc. 简单句：例如-这是我的狗。我有两只狗。我喜欢狗。我不喜欢狗。...等等。

lesson 4
6.my house  我的家/我的房子
My house is big. My house is small. My house has 3 rooms....etc. 我的房子很大。我的房子很小。我家有三个房间。

lesson 5
7. simple verbs like: eat and drink  简单的动词：例如-吃和喝
name of food and drinks: coffee, tea, bread, eggs,...etc. 一些事物的名称：咖啡，茶，面包，蛋...等等。
8. names of fruits; soda pop 水果的名称；汽水
9. Do you want this? Do you want that? 你要这个吗？ 你要哪个吗？

lesson 6
10. I like xxx. I don't like xxx. 我喜欢xxx。    我不喜欢xxx。
seafood, vegetable, meat, pork, beef, rice, noodles, fish...etc.海鲜，菜，肉，猪肉，牛肉，米饭，面条，鱼...等等。
Review: lesson 1-5 复习

lesson 7
11.  days of the week   星期
12.  months of the year 月份
13.  Chinese class, English class, French class, PE class 中文课，英文课，法文课
Learn sentences like: I have Chinese class on Monday. Do you have English class on Tuesday? 学习一些句子：星期一我有中文课。 星期二你有英文课吗？

lesson 8
14. our class, student, male, female 我们班，学生，男，女
Sentences: This is our class. Our class has 25 students. Our class has 15 boys...etc. 句子：这是我们班。我们班有二十五个学生。我们班有十五个男生。...等等。

lesson 9
15. places like library, sports ground, gym, assembly hall, 不同的地方：图书馆，运动场，体育馆，礼堂
verb: to go  动词：去
sentences: Where are you going? I go to the library....etc. 句子：你去哪儿？我去图书馆。...等等。

Review all 复习


Note: 
1. I have been contacted by some parents about whether or not I do private on-line Chinese tutoring. Yes, I still tutor privately. 
2. If you ask me how I teach my lessons, I encourage my young students to sing songs and to be as goofy as  possible and to have a relaxing attitude in class. I encourage students to sing the Chinese vocabulary and sentences out, it does help memorizing Chinese.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
