Class Experience

This vocal technique class will provide an understanding of proper breath technique, resonation technique, training tools to develop the voice and song application to build the child's repertoire and/or musical theater audition book. Learning how to get rid of those nerves, building confidence and igniting a magical stage presence will also be a large focus of this musical theater voice class. Portions of class will be "hands on" play with various vocal techniques. Effort and focus will be expected from each student in order to develop their voice, confidence and skillset. Practical warm ups will be conducted and songs will also be taught and practiced. As the students grow in their vocal technique, more focus will then be given to learning how to enhance the storytelling and performance of a song.
Learning Goals
The overall intention of this course is to help the child to learn how to "free their voice" and train it for any style they wish to sing. The goal is to develop strong, healthy chords and the vocal stamina to withstand several shows a week. Although focus will be given to musical theatre styling and performance specifically, this technique can also be applied to any singing style. This class should prepare any child who has a love for theater and singing and wants to shine on stage and stand out in the audition room.

Greetings!

I have been a musical theater performer for 15 years and have performed regionally, all over the country and on Broadway. I have a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the University of Florida. I also have two teaching certifications, one of which is a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification. I attained it at One Yoga School in Kho Pha-ngan, Thailand. I specialize in Vinyassa and Hatha Yoga.

I have a passion for guiding, training and inspiring children in the areas of theater, voice, dance and yoga! I endeavor to create a positive and encouraging learning environment for children of all ages/levels in each category. On going instruction (private lessons are available too) is also available for any child who is serious about considering musical theater as a hobby or potential profession. I can provide the necessary tools to help grow their skill set as an actor, singer and/or dancer. More advanced lessons in yoga are also available if interested.

I hope your child thoroughly enjoys my classes! I can’t wait to inspire growth, skill and motivation toward their big dreams.
