This course will teach 3-5 year old students how to read stories after learning certain sight words. There will be a list of sight words for the students to learn how to read through phonics, reading, and writing. This class will be 30 minutes long. I will teach through the utilization of Google Slides, Zoom, reading materials, white boards, markers, flash cards. The story the students are reading is from Learn to Read with EP by Lee Giles. Songs and dances will be included within the lesson...
Students will learn how to read a list of sight words so they can read a story which includes those sight words.
Homework-memorizing the sight words, writing the sight words, and reading the stories with the sight words. Parents can do this with their child three times a day-morning, afternoon, and evening. The stories are half a page to two pages long as the class progresses.
Writing paper, pencils, markers, white boards, expo markers, and index cards (for flashcards).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be an informal assessment-writing of sight words turned in, recording of students reading sight words, and recording of reading stories to show comprehension.
