Welcome! Let's have fun and learn how to read. Class Goals: In this class, students will go from rhyming to letter sounds to letter blends and finally to reading words. In this class, students will learn phonics, phonological awareness, letter blending, word families, pre-reading, reading and more. Students will go from rhyming to letter sounds to letter blends and finally to reading words. We will begin with phonological awareness, then move on to letters, sounds, and blending, then special rules (which introduces your learner to common rules and exceptions in the English language), and word family blends.
I have several years of experience teaching pre-k and kindergarten readiness as well as over 20 years of teaching, tutoring and classroom experience from preschool through 12th grade, all subjects and all learning levels. I also have experience as a homeschool co-op teacher and mom. Here are some of my qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in English/Language Arts & Early Childhood Education - Several years of full-time classroom experience - 4 years of online teaching and tutoring experience - Current 120 hour TESOL certification / ESL teaching
