Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to draw the neck and face of a giraffe during this class. We will use wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry watercolor techniques to add depth to our painting! Class will begin with a few fun facts about giraffes and a short discussion on the important criteria for a portrait. Students will learn through a guided-demonstration: where they will watch the teacher complete a step or two, then do the same on their own artwork. Students may ask questions throughout class as needed....
Students will continue to develop their accurate proportions through drawing a portrait of an animal (giraffe). Students will also explore a couple of techniques with watercolor paints.
-Watercolor Paper (size: at least 9x12) -Scissors (*May need adult supervision if your students is a younger learner) -Watercolor Paints -Paintbrush -Water Cup (filled half-way, w/cold water) -Pencil -Eraser -Crayons (only: black and brown) -Paper Towels -Scratch Paper (to protect your table surface) -Black Sharpie
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
