Dangles are beautiful illustrated strings of charms that you can use to decorate letters, shapes, and objects. We will explore the components of dangles which include various types of lines, and the many types of charms, which are shapes that range from simple, geometric shapes to complex, organic shapes. The possibilities for Dangles are endless! While the final product for this class is a Valentine's card, you can actually make a birthday card, Mother's Day card, or anything else you desire.
Learning Goals
Students will challenge themselves creatively to draw unique lines and shapes and combine them together for a pleasing illustration.

Parental Guidance
Students should be able to draw basic shapes such as circles, squares, diamonds, stars, and hearts. They should also be able to draw fairly straight lines or be able to use a ruler to draw straight lines.
Supply List
1. blank greeting cards or pieces of cardstock cut to 4 in. by 6 in. 2. colored pens with fine tips such as Microns, gel pens, or Papermate Flair pens 3. scrap paper Optional: ruler, basic shape templates I will provide a template for the lettering, but you don't have to use it!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been in the teaching profession for more than 30 years. I have taught at multiple grade levels all the way from kindergarten to college. My hobbies include card-making, watercolor, polymer clay minis, and sewing. My art classes on Outschool are a way to share my hobbies with others.
