Learners have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. During each session, students learn to create an optical illusion of three-dimensional squares on a flat surface. Rozine guides students step-by-step, drawing straight and curved lines with pencil. She then shows students which parts to color black and those that need to stay white. She then demonstrates how to shade grey on the white areas, and white on the black, in order to deceive the eye. The number of illusions drawn depends on the skill level of the class, as well as how many (or how few) distractions there are. Students thrive in a creative environment where they are encouraged to develop their imagination and artistic expression.

Supply List
Students will need either a sketchpad, or a few sheets of drawing or printer paper. Pencils, erasers, and a straight-edge ruler are a must. A sharpie or black marker and a white colored pencil are integral to the design. Coloring utensils can be used, such as crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers, but may not be demonstrated. Students can frame their artwork by stapling or taping it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
