In addition to learning about the history of the Eiffel Tower and the plethora of fun facts around its architecture, I will share photos and describe my experience going to the top of the Eiffel Tower with my family (which includes a family story we still talk about to this day!). We will then learn how to draw the Eiffel Tower and finish it up by painting it with watercolor paint (see "Supply List" for a special note about this). This is a great opportunity to see and hear what it is truly...
Students will experience the following in this class: 1. They will learn the history and fun architectural facts about the Eiffel Tower. 2. They will travel virtually to the Eiffel Tower through my own personal photos and storytelling. 3. They will learn how to draw the Eiffel Tower. 4. They create an Eiffel Tower painting.
No sensitive topics.
No homework for this class - although I always encourage further learning at home for fun!
NOTE: This project is intended to be done on watercolor paper with watercolor paints, however, learners can use a regular piece of paper and crayons if you are unable to source watercolor supplies. The most important part of the lesson is learning to draw the Eiffel tower, and not so much the painting. SUPPLIES: 1. 1 piece of 8.5 X 11 watercolor paper (*see NOTE above) 2. Sharpened pencil with adequate eraser 3. Watercolor paints (*see NOTE above) 4. Medium-sized paintbrush for watercolors (this will be used to paint the background of the painting so please avoid fine-tipped paintbrushes. (*see NOTE above) 5. Jar of water (if using watercolors) 6. FINE (not SUPER-FINE) POINT Black Sharpie (or another comparable black *permanent* ink marker)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
