Beginner Level
Do you aspire to dance in a Ballroom under the sparkle of a glitter ball like they do on 'Dancing with the Stars' or 'Strictly Come Dancing'? This Self-Paced Beginner Latin American Ballroom Dancing Course is aimed at children aged 9 - 13 years. It is suitable for beginners or those with very little training in Ballroom. It is ideal for those who cannot attend my live classes or require the flexibility of being able to practice in their own time. Dance is an art-form which requires practice to master techniques. Learners are encouraged to practice. I recommend taking one lesson per week and then practicing the lesson several times each week. For each lesson there is both an instructional lesson and a practice video version. Lesson 1:- Introduction Warm Up Rhythm Technique - Cha Cha Cha Dance (Solo Routine) Cool Down Lesson 2:- Warm Up Rhythm Technique - Samba Dance (Solo Routine) Cool Down Lesson 3:- Warm Up Rhythm Technique - Jive Dance (Solo Routine) Cool Down Teaching Style & Interaction:- I have a positive approach to teaching and try to emulate this in my teaching videos. As this is a self-paced course there are no live meetings.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of London (Royal Holloway)
I have been teaching dance for over 25 years. I am a qualified professional dance teacher with the NCDTA International (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association, UK) and the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association). I have taught all ages of Ballroom from young to adult. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA.
I competed in Ballroom all over the U.K. until I turned Professional to pursue a teaching career during which time I have trained many Ballroom competitors successfully winning events around the U.K. I also taught the Ballroom and Latin American Society at Durham University teaching hundreds of students every week for many years before moving to the USA. I am also a fan of 'Dancing With The Stars' and followed the UK version 'Strictly Come Dancing'; even appearing on the BBC show in some fun features!
