In this 55-minute, 5-week class, we will learn the basics of crochet. If you have never even picked up a crochet hook, this class is for you! Even if you have a little bit of experience with crochet, this will bring you to the next level of understanding. By the end of our 5-weeks together, you will leave with more confidence in the art of crocheting and will be ready to make just about any project. How to hold yarn and hook Crochet terms Slip stitch and Slip knot Single Crochet Double Crochet Half Double Crochet How to finish a project and weave in ends
Students will be asked to practice their stitches between classes.
What you will need: **Everything can be found at Amazon, Joanne Fabric, Michael's, or any art and hobby store -3.5mm- 5.0mm crochet hook (it will say it on the side of the hook. The size is important, too big and yarn falls out, too small, and the hook gets stuck in the yarn. -Medium weight #4 yarn (it will say "4-medium" on the side of the packaging)- the color of your choosing- "Red Heart" or "Big Twist" are great brands to get. -Scissors -Embroidery needle
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be using scissors and an embroidery needle.
