7 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. The only homework that will be assigned is if on class three the student was not able to finish the recording of their verse and/or hook by class’s end time. If this does happen to be the case, I will make sure the student(s) has/have all of the equipment and login credentials necessary to be able to finish their track recording professionally.Class Experience
In this multi-day class, students will learn how to songwrite and create their own 16 bars, that they will then perform for their contribution towards the group rap song. Students will learn what it means to collaborate on a track with someone else and make decisions together regarding the beat that will be used, the effects, how fast or slow the beats per minute will be, what the song will be about, the order in which who will perform first through last, along with many other important decisions that will be made as a team while creating this track as a group project. I am a very high-energy and fun teacher that cares very much about each and everyone of my students and their wellbeing. I am thinking this class is going to be structured in a forum style where we will all come together and collaborate as a team for this track. The class could vary in dynamic and size. It could be just one student and myself, or it could end up being two or three students and myself. The class will still be run the same way, regardless of size, the only real difference, would be discussing the order in which students will be performing on the track. It will still be extremely fun, and every single student will need to make either a distro kid account or a BMI mobile account as well as a united masters account. This will ensure that every single student and person on the track will get their proper payment as the song will be monetized and payment will always be equally distributed. The four classes will be organized and set up in the following manner: Class one: This will be the class that we will decide on what the topic of the track will be, and what kind of beat we want to have for this song. We will make a final decision on the beat which will be chosen from a resource that allows beats to be used free for profit, along with royalty, free music. Class two: This will be the class where we have to finish all of our lyrics in both the verses and the hook. If any sound effects are wanted, this will also be the class in which we make this decision. Class three: In this class, we will be recording our work on Soundtrap for education and or BandLab depending on the students preference. I will provide the login credentials and premium account during the class for any students that need these resources. Students will be responsible for providing their own microphone and headphones. If Recording of the track is not completed during the class time then it will be required for homework. Class four: This will be the class that we will make our cover art for our track by utilizing Canva Class five: In this class, we will be putting on the finishing touches, such as the mixing, the mastering and distributing it for monetization. We will be making sure that everybody has been added to the track for proper credit. This will be going out on Spotify, SoundCloud, Pandora, Apple Music, YouTube, YouTube music, Deezer, Tidal, Audiomack and several other music platforms online.
Learning Goals
The learning goals for this class will be to create and record a professional song as part of a team.

Parental Guidance
Students will be using soundtrack for education and or BandLab for education provided by me during the class, so there will be no cost to you for that. To ensure students receive the credit, and the money rightfully owed to them for the song that they will be a part of creating. They will either need to create a BMI mobile account alongside a United masters account free trial there is no cost for either one of those. The other option is to create an account through distrokid, which does have a One time fee of $22.99, but distro kid will not take any of the money that is rightfully owed to the artists. Whereas united masters will take a portion, but there won’t be an upfront fee if you opt to create the 14 day, free trial at the time of the track getting distributed, released and monetized. I will be screen sharing YouTube, when we are choosing a beat for our track. The beat will be royalty, free and free for profit use. I will also be screen sharing canva for education when it comes time to creating cover art for our song.
Supply List
Students will need to have a microphone and headphones when they are recording their contribution on the group track. Students will need to make either a BMI mobile and United masters account or just a distrokid account before the beginning of our final class which is class five.
