I will show and explain how to create parts of the game while students follow along. Students should have experience using unity or have completed my other course "Learn How To Code Your First 3D Game Using Unity & C# (Beginner)" before taking this class: https://outschool.com/classes/learn-how-to-code-your-first-3d-game-using-unity-and-c-7RjBRvVR#uso4MwEBW5 Please reach out to me if you are interested in taking this class but haven't taken my beginner unity class yet. Class 1 and 2: I will show and guide students how to setup our Unity project and create the functionality for the camera to orbit around the player using the mouse for 3rd person perspective. Class 3 and 4: In these classes we will be working on the player movements and the enemy. We will make the enemy follow the player while avoiding objects in the scene. We will also detect when the enemy is close to the player to attack. We will add the ability for the player to attack multiple enemies in the direction it's facing after the attack animation is done playing. We also learn how we can import a 3d environment from the unity asset store into our game. Class 5: In these classes we will learn how to get models and animations for our player and enemies and how to place them in the game. We will also setup an animator which we will use to play the animations on the player at the appropriate times. Topics the course covers: Importing Animations Playing Animations Setting up an Animator Create a HealthBar UI Create a Camera Orbit Script Enemy AI follow player with obstacles (Navmesh, Navmesh Agent) Passing and Returning from C# Methods Importing assets from Unity Asset Store Creating Scenes and prefabs Post-Processing effects Access components with code Please note: Chromebooks, tablets and iPads will not work for this class. Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a degree in computer science and have been coding for over 10 years. I have also worked a few years in the industry creating desktop games. As someone who was originally self taught I know how important it is to learn code by being very hands-on and experimenting, which is how I will be teaching.
