Description
Class Experience
During this class, the student will prepare a typical Puerto Rican entree - Rice with Chicken and Stewed Bean. The learning goals are that each student will follow the recipe, work safely around the kitchen, measure, mix ingredients and cook the dish. We all learn by doing so I will demonstrate the process so that after my demonstration each student will be able to feel confident and properly execute the step.

Cooking is a creative adventure, but there is a process that needs to be followed that will end in a delicious edible product. Students will learn how to cook in a safe environment but this can only be accomplished if a parent or an adult is present at all times since we will be working with knives and heat. Safety is my #1 priority, and I will teach the proper way to use these utensils in a step by step basis. A kitchen safety handout is provided to review before the cooking session.
