In this class, we will follow the clues in a reading selection ("Deception" from the book, Forensic Investigations) to solve a crime. This class is an integrated lesson that combines reading comprehension, science and observation skills as well as communication activities. We will learn how to read nonverbal clues to determine whether a suspect is telling the truth or being deceptive. Students will work independently and in a small group to analyze clues and justify their opinions. We will read about a "crime" committed in a middle school gym during a sports competition and determine who is responsible based on non-verbal clues like body language. Your student will learn critical thinking skills while having fun!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and Bonjour! I am so glad that you're here! My name is Angela Eudy and I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I have two children in their 20s, a dog and two cats.
After my first day of school as a child, I came home and lined up my stuffed animals to teach them what I had learned at school....and I've been a teacher ever since!
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in French from the school of education. I currently teach high school French (grades 9-12; levels 1-4). But, I've also taught K-8 French and Spanish, K-12 ESL (English as a Second Language), 6-8 Language Arts, Social Studies, Life Skills and have been an Instructional Coach/teacher trainer for my school district. When I'm not teaching, I love to travel, read, cook, craft and spend time outdoors with my family.
My classes are characterized by a strong teacher/student connection (I want my students to know that I care about them) and always moving students towards higher order thinking skills with targeted and intentional questions. My classes usually move at a challenging pace and we always a fun time! As a seasoned teacher, I can extend the thinking and reasoning skills of advanced learners, but also help to bring along a struggling learner, as well.
Thanks for taking the time to read my bio and I hope to see your student in my class!
