Class Experience
Students will learn about the instrument of their choice, how to read, understand, interpret, and perform music, technique plus proper seating and hand positions.
Chad has over 20 years teaching experience and a bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance.
Students are expected to practice no less than 15 minutes every other day, although 30 minutes daily is preferred.
Some items your student may need: instrument, pick, book or other materials, music stand, metronome, tuner.
Each individual learns at their own pace so while there are no formal assessments, students will have the opportunity to perform for their peers via Zoom at our student recitals, held every 2-3 months.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Occasionally students may want to learn a song or piece where an audio or video reference is needed (usually through YouTube), of course we cannot control that content and may be used at the parents discretion.
Below are some of the books your student may require. Guitar: Hal Leonard Guitar Method by Will Schmid, A Modern Method For Gutar by William Leavitt, The Christopher Parkening Guitar Method by Christopher Parkening Ukulele: Hal Leonard Ukulele Method & Chord Book by Lil' Rev Piano: Alfred's Basic Lesson Book Level 1A by Willard A. Palmer Students may also require blank sheet music, guitar/ukulele tablature, or chord charts Some helpful websites we may use are Ultimate Guitar and YouTube
