We will explore different geometric shapes and how to identify them. We create shapes such as rectangular prisms and a cubes to build a robot. We make the 3-D shapes using paper, glue, and additional coloring supplies if desired to personalize your robot. The class will be begin with a presentation to learn about the different shapes and tips to complete the project successfully. We will then have a demonstration with step by step directions as a group to fold the 3-D shape patterns (supplied). We will begin by building a cube as a group. There will be patterns provided to be printed before class begins so the learner is able to participate. This patterns will require cutting of small shapes to be folded using fine motor skills. The learner can create at their own pace and if the project is not complete during class it can be finished afterward. Note: It is recommended to take learning Geometric shapes first but not mandatory. Join me, I am looking forward to creating a robot with you! Teacher LuAnn

I enjoy seeing learners become creative. The goal of this class is for the learners to turn paper into a 3-D robot and personalize it. Also, to see the possibilities of shapes being turned into future creations.

There are no sensitive topics or violent content. Learner may need help cutting their pattern.
Supply List
Learner will print the pattern that will be supplied for download. Shapes fold and hold their shape with at least 24# printer paper. Scissors Glue that will be strong for paper. Tape if desired for flaps that need additional stability. Markers, crayons, or colored pencils to decorate your robot (optional).

Hello, my name is teacher LuAnn! My interests are very vast and holistic. I have my BS in Psychology and Elementary education. I have certifications in holistic nutrition, aromatherapy, and ariculotherapy. I am currently an online ESL teacher and an In.Form health coach. My most important accomplishment is that I home schooled my two children from grades 7 to graduation. My work experience includes teaching for over twenty years in different settings. I managed a program as a computer assisted instructor for five years in a middle school setting. This program blossomed into a large program to help more struggling students academically.
